Ageomembraneis very lowpermeabilitysynthetic membrane liner or barrier used with anygeotechnical engineeringrelated material so as to control fluid (or gas) migration in a human-made project, structure, or system.  Geomembranes are made from relatively thin continuous polymeric sheets, but they can also be made from the impregnation of geotextileswithasphalt,elastomerorpolymer sprays, or as multilayered bitumen geocomposites. Continuous polymer sheet geomembranes are, by far, the most common.

The geomembranes begins with the production of the raw materials, which include the polymer resin, and additives of black master batch. These raw materials (i.e., the "formulation") are then processed into sheets of various widths and thickness byextrusion,calendering, and/or spread coating.


Product Description

The APF Linear low density polyethylene smooth Geomembrane are produced from prime LLDPE and LDPE as well as MDPE and HDPE resins result in a high Quality premium grade, flexible Geomembrane. The product has been formulated to be chemical resistant,excellent physical and mechanical performance, high tearing resistance, good deformation adaptability, high puncture resistance, high aging resistance free of leachable additives and resistant to ultraviolet degradation, anti-acid & alkali, excellent low & high temperature resistance, innocuous, long life span, perfect water proof performance, seepage and humidity resistance.

APF Geomembrane sheet product range

APF manufactures LLDPE (Linear Low Density Polyethylene) and HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) produced in rolls for specific projects.
Thickness: - 0.5mm- 2.0 mm
Width per roll: 6.2m (average), as request
Length per roll: 75- 140 meters, as request

Extrusion Welding:

  • Adjacent APF geomembrane sheet shall be tack bonded together using procedures that do notdamage the geomembrane, allow required tests to be performed.
  • Extrusion welding entails placing a hot extrudate on top of the preheated lap of two adjoining panels while simultaneously applying pressure, and utilizes a welding rod made from the same type of resin as the membrane. The welding rod is melted inside the extrusion welding machine to form the hot extrudate. Preheating of the sheet in the weld area is performed by the extrusion welding machine.
  • The temperature controllers are set to appropriate temperatures and the machines are allowed to heat to the machine temperature set point.
  • As the welding progresses, the welding operator takes care to assure correct machine speed and alignment.
